About Fred Siegelman

Fred Siegelman is a proud husband, father, and public servant. He is a lifelong resident of Versailles, Kentucky and has devoted much of his adult life to improving the city. Fred served on the Versailles City Council from 1996-1998; in 1998 he stepped into the role of Mayor, which he held until 2014. During his time as Mayor, Fred worked with regional organizations to promote central Kentucky and worked with business owners and other local elected officials to attract foreign investment to Kentucky. He partnered with Bluegrass Area Development and Global Opportunities Kentucky to successfully attract and bring jobs and tax base to Versailles. For example, he worked collaboratively to bring the KCTCS’ headquarters to Versailles, where they took over the Texas Instruments building.

Fred resumed public service in 2018 when he was elected to the Versailles City Council, a role he still occupies. Fred is seeking election for Mayor in November of 2026 to continue pursuing the vision he has for Versailles. Fred’s vision includes continuing to keep services high and taxes low, bringing more shopping opportunities so people can shop local, and adding rails-to-trails, walking, biking, and running trails to make the city more walking-friendly for tourists and young families. If elected, Fred would bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. His political and social connections within the state of Kentucky and beyond would also bolster his ability to bring new business and investments to Versailles. Fred is also dedicated to beautifying and improving the city, work for which he has experience, from both his time as Mayor and as a city council person. Fred’s extensive record of public service, his team-player work ethic, and his ardent dedication to the citizens of Versailles has prepared him for the challenges of this role. He hopes that he can earn your vote this November.
